Welcome
Hello and Welcome to Trails End Iris Gardens!
Since Spring arrived, Bob and I have been busy in the gardens, getting ready for another
glorious season. Winter was kind to us and our Iris farm and perennial gardens are
showing promise of the best year ever.
Trails End's Iris farm is located in South-Western Ontario, Canada between
Brantford and Hamilton in Canadian hardiness Zone 5b.
Bob and I grow Award Winning varieties of Bearded Irises, including
the newest introductions and Dykes Medal winners, for retail
customers and garden centers. We take pride in offering only the highest quality
rhizomes, grown with loving care. Bob pays particular attention to accuracy and quality
by digging our plants by hand and then I carefully clean and identify each rhizome.
We place a premium on customer service which is reflected in the many
positive testimonials from our happy customers.
Each year visitors come from all over Southern Ontario during our May and June
OPEN HOUSE WEEKENDS to tour the gardens and admire the riot of color.

On our 10 acre Iris farm, we have developed perennial beds showcasing the Irises
amongst companion plantings of peonies, ornamental grasses, shrubs, trees and various
rockery plants. There are approximately 6000 Iris plants, most of them blooming in the
gardens or in the production beds. Visitors can enjoy easy access to the gardens across
lawns or enjoy the view from a shaded bench. For customers wishing to purchase potted
Irises, there is a limited selection available to take home.
We ship Irises across Canada in late July and early August. By keeping accurate records
of our inventory, Bob and I are careful to not oversell our product which enables us to
deliver as promised while still maintaining our parent stock. As you browse through our
photographs, you will note some plants are on "maternity" or "paternity" leave; withdrawn
this year to allow for increases. If production is greater than anticipated, some of these
may be available later this summer. Please let us know of any that you would like to
reserve.
We test our new acquisitions for at least one season before making them available
for sale. These are marked as "Available in 2009" or in other cases, "Garden Viewing Only".
If you wish to order any of these varieties, you can do so by sending a deposit of $10.00
per variety to hold your reservation. Depending on the vigor of the variety and Mother
Nature, some of these
"Coming Attraction" plants may be available this year.
If you have any questions, feel free to E-mail us. Bob tries to answer our E-mails
daily. If you wish, you can telephone us at (519) 647-9746.
We may be outside gardening, so please leave a message and
we will return your call as soon as possible.
Hoping to hear from you soon,
Bob and Ann
